Liquiclean is a cleaning film specially designed by the BMK- Gruppe. This film is used to remove dirt and build-up from the press plate. Our cleaning film has proven popular with our customers worldwide. It is available in different sizes depending on the press format.
General Information:
- Used for cleaning of chromed steel press plates (short-cycle) and belts (continuous lines)
- Not suitable for aluminum plates
- Removes build-up of amino resin (UF+MF), not suitable for phenolic resins
- Must always be used together with a melamine treated paper. Melamine paper acts as glue line and sticks the cleaning paper to the board. lf LIQUICLEAN is used without melamine paper, it will stick to the plate.
- The size of the board determines the area that is cleaned. Do not use thin boards as this may lead to steam explosions.
- After use LIQUICLEAN must be properly re-sealed with plastic foil. lf the paper gets too dry, the cleaning effect is lost.
- Shelf life: 12 months if sealed properly.
How to use:
(Short-cycle presses)
- Unwind LIQUICLEAN from the roll and cut to size.
- Form sandwich (top to bottom): LIQUICLEAN / melamine paper / raw board / melamine paper
- Run cycle at triple pressing time, maximum pressure
- Run 2-3 cycles with melamine paper / board / melamine paper at double pressing time to remove all traces of cleaning agent and to build up a new layer of release agent on the plate.
- If necessary repeat process for bottom side with sandwich upside down.
Continuous lines
- Feed in sandwich (top to bottom):
- CPL: LIQUICLEAN / melamine paper / phenolic core / parchment
- TFL: LIQUICLEAN / melamine paper / raw board / melamine paper
- Run at a speed of about 2 m/min until the entire belt has been cleaned
- Continue to run slowly without LIQUICLEAN, in order to remove all traces of cleaning agent and build up a new layer of release agent
- If necessary repeat process for bottom side with sandwich upside down.
Form of Supply
- Usually in rolls, 100 linear meters long, minimum 50 linear meters, roll length should not exceed 200 linear meters to allow manual handling
- Standard width: from stock we can supply any width up to 212 cm. We run larger rolls in 212, 160 and 140 cm and rewind, adjusting to the required width. The width of our rewinder is limited to 212 cm.
- For certain customers we also run a few rolls in 216 cm on stock. Minimum 100 linear meters.
- Rolls wider than that and any sheet size are available as special order when we run LIQUICLEAN productions two to three times per year.
